Completed construction this week, the park’s newest roller coaster — Yukon Striker — will be the world’s fastest, tallest and longest of its kind in the world.
“Our talented team has worked for more than a year to bring this complex project to completion,” said Peter Switzer, director of construction and maintenance at Canada’s Wonderland.
“At times it’s like solving a puzzle as we integrate a massive roller coaster into the park’s landscape with our existing rides, park utilities and underground infrastructure.”
First announced two years ago, Yukon Striker will not only be the largest out of the park’s 17 coasters, it will break a number of records currently held by similar rides in theme parks around the world.

Designed and built by Swiss ride maker Bolliger & Mabillard, Yukon Striker is a dive coaster — a breed of extreme roller coaster that features one or more vertical, 90-degree drops.
Featuring short and wide cars capable of holding as many as 10 people per row, dive coasters often stop at the precipice, adding to the riders’ thrill before plunging straight down.
At 68 metres tall, 1,105 meters long and reaching speeds of 130 km/h, Yukon Strike will be the world’s tallest, longest and fastest dive coaster in the world — records formerly held by Valravn at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.
