Chair Girl 2.0?
Video surfaced on social media last week showing police retrieve items blocking the right lane of the Gardiner Expressway — a mattress and what appeared to be a table.
“Someone allegedly threw a table and a mattress onto the Gardiner Expressway from their condo building,” said a 6ixBuzzTV caption for footage taken by a resident.
Naturally, Torontonians were quickly reminded of Marcella Zoia — aka Chair Girl — who became infamous for tossing patio furniture from a 45th-floor balcony of a building overlooking the Gardiner. She was spared jail time for the 2019 incident.
One person wrote on X, “Chair Girl is back!” while another asked, “Is this lady accounted for?”

Toronto Police issued an alert on X on Jan. 3 about “reports of a mattress” on the westbound lanes between Yonge St and Spadina Ave., advising motorists to be cautious until officers cleared the road.
However, a TPS spokesperson told The Toronto Sun officers received no reports that suggested the “items came from a balcony,” adding they could have fallen from a truck.
