Two carjackers are sought after a chauffeur’s high-end SUV was stolen at gunpoint in Pickering over the weekend.
Durham Regional Police say officers responded to the armed carjacking in the parking lot of Westcreek Public School in the area of Westcreek Dr. and Oakburn St. – near Sheppard Ave. and Altona Dr. – around 8:20 p.m. on Saturday.
“The victim, who runs a chauffeur business, was contacted to pick up a client in the parking lot,” Const. Nicholas Gluckstein said in a statement Wednesday. “While the victim was waiting, he was approached by two (males) who entered his vehicle and made threats toward him.”
Gluckstein said the carjackers “forced the victim out of his vehicle” and then drove off in the black Cadillac Escalade.
The victim was not physically injured, he said.
Police have not released any description of the two males sought for the carjacking.
