York Regional Police said officers responded to the gun violence outside of a house near Lee Ave. and Noble St. – southeast of 14th Ave. and Kennedy Rd. – at about 5:30 p.m.
“When they arrived, they located a woman suffering from a gunshot wound,” Const. James Dickson said Wednesday. “The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

Video recovered from the area and released by investigators shows the shooter arriving at the home in a dark-coloured Audi A4 sedan.
The man – described as Asian with a skinny build and wearing a high-visibility vest, construction helmet, dark-coloured hoodie, black pants and a medical mask – talks to the woman after she exits her home.

As she turns to head back inside, the man pulls out a handgun and opens fire.
The gunman squeezes off a round before the gun appears to jam. After feverishly squeezing the trigger repeatedly, he manages to fire two more shots.
The shooter then scampers back to his car, which had been left running, and drives off.

“Investigators believe the incident is targeted and are appealing to anyone who has not yet spoken to police to please come forward,” Dickson said. “Additionally, officers are seeking surveillance video or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the shooting.”
