Police say they were called at 12:30 a.m. to a home on Eulalie Ave. after receiving a 911 call from the address.
When police arrived they found a woman with traumatic injuries.
She was taken to a Toronto hospital and later died.
A man at the home was taken into custody.
The woman has been identified as 48-year-old Parween Adel.
Hakim Adel, 41, of Oshawa, has been charged with second-degree murder.
He was held for a bail hearing.
There were two children and an elderly person in the home at the time the woman was killed, but they were not injured.
