CRIME SCENE: Cops hunt suspect after woman sexually assaulted in alley

An attacker followed a woman off a streetcar before forcing her into an alley and sexually assaulting his victim, Toronto Police said Sunday.

The woman and her assailant were travelling around 4:30 a.m. on March 25 on the same streetcar a couple of kilometres east of Parliament and King Sts., at Sumach St.

Police released an image of a suspect (pictured above). He’s described as 50-years-old, heavy set, and has a beard.

83-year-old charged with Ottawa-area murder: OPP

OPP say an 83-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder after a person was killed in a small city east of Ottawa.

Police say officers were called to a home in Clarence-Rockland on Friday shortly before 3 p.m.

They say one person was arrested and one person was taken to hospital and died.

Police say the 83-year-old accused is set to appear in court on Monday.

OPP did not immediately release any details about the victim.

Man accused of luring, sexually assaulting girl

A man allegedly lured two girls under the age of 16 and sexually assaulted one of them, say Peel Regional Police.

On one occasion, the man used social media to lure and engage with a victim, according to the accusations.

The alleged sex crimes happened between June 2023 and December 2024.

Ricardo Duncan, 41, of Thornhill, faces charges, including sexual assault, luring a person under 16, extortion, making child pornography and other offences. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The OPP’s Highway Safety Division posted about the traffic stop on social media on Sunday, saying an officer from the Aurora detachment made the bust on the northbound lanes of the highway at Langstaff Rd. at an unspecified date and time.

They said the man, who is from Thorold, was charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving and stunt driving.

Youth charged with sex crimes

An unnamed youth is charged with sex crimes over “multiple reports” of assaults and indecent acts in Brampton. 

Peel Regional Police said they began receiving reports in December of a male exposing himself and sexually assaulting females in the Steeles Ave.-Financial Dr. area of Brampton before fleeing on a motorized scooter.

Police said officers arrested a suspect Thursday while that person was allegedly committing another indecent act.  Police charged the youth with three counts each of sexual assault and committing an indecent act.

Man, 34 wanted in harassment probe

A 34-year-old is wanted for allegedly harassing an unknown homeowner in Midtown.

Toronto Police said the suspect allegedly attended a residence in the Bathurst St.-St. Clair Ave. W. area between March 22 and Thursday on “several occasions” and caused damage to the property on “some of the occasions.”

They said the suspect and the victim were not known to each other.

Joanasie Mingeriak, 34, of no fixed address, is wanted for harassment by watching and besetting, loiter/prowl at night on another person’s property, mischief obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property and breach of probation.

He is 5-foot-10 with a thin build, long dark hair, brown eyes and no facial hair. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, dark tuque and brown construction boots.
