Cops seeking arson suspect after 1 person hurt in Beaches blaze

City police need help identifying a person they say was responsible for setting a building alight in the Beaches.

Just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning, police say, a person attempted to set a building on fire near Queen St. E. and Wineva Ave., just northeast of Kew Gardens.

One of the four people in the structure suffered minor injuries.

Investigators say the suspect used an accelerant to trigger the blaze.

The culprit fled the area on foot north on Wineva towards Queen.

The suspect, described as having a medium build, was wearing a black mask, black gloves, black Puma sweatpants, black shoes and a grey or charcoal-coloured hoodie.
