CRIME SCENE: Ajax teen charged with attempted carjacking, breach of release order

Durham Regional Police have charged a 19-year-old man after an attempted armed carjacking in Ajax.
Cops responded Sunday at about 1 p.m. to Salem Rd. and Williamson Dr. E. after the victim was approached by a male while sitting in his vehicle, which was parked in the driveway of a residence. The suspect allegedly pulled a weapon out of his waistband and demanded possession of the vehicle, but the victim quickly pulled out of the driveway and left the area.
Police said the man fled before officers arrived, but a search of the area led to an arrest after a brief foot pursuit and officers located a knife.
The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
Nidhish Mathisudan, of Ajax, is charged with multiple offences, including robbery, possession of a weapon for committing an offence, obstructing a police officer and failure to comply with release order.

MAN, 36, ACCUSED OF COMMITTING INDECENT ACT
Halton Regional Police have charged a male after an indecent act was allegedly committed in Georgetown.
Cops said that on Sunday at 7:40 p.m., a woman was seated on a bench adjacent to a secluded public trail system in the Credit River-Mountainview Rd. S. area, known locally as Hungry Hollow, when the suspect approached the victim from behind.
The victim turned around to allegedly find the suspect engaged in an indecent act. The victim fled and contacted police.
James McHale, 36, of Halton Hills, is charged with committing an indecent act and disobeying a court order.

SUSPECTS SOUGHT AFTER ATTEMPTED MARKHAM CARJACKING
York Regional Police are appealing for witnesses and seeking up to four suspects following an attempted carjacking in Markham.
Police said that on May 28 at about 10 p.m., the victim’s vehicle was parked in a commercial plaza in the Yonge St.-Glen Cameron Rd. area. The victim entered his vehicle and attempted to close the door when he was approached by three males with one allegedly pointing a firearm at him. The suspects allegedly removed the victim from his vehicle and assaulted him.
The victim, who sustained minor injuries, escaped with his car keys and the suspects fled in a dark grey, four-door sedan driven by a fourth suspect.
The first three males are described as young and possibly South Asian. They were wearing black clothing, masks and gloves. No description was available for the fourth suspect.

EAST HAMILTON CRASH LEADS TO SUV HEIST
Hamilton Police are searching for a suspect after a vehicle heist in East Hamilton.
Cops were near the intersection of Main St. E. and Tuxedo Ave. Monday at 5 p.m. when they observed a red Toyota Camry collide with a black Toyota Highlander. When officers approached the vehicles to help, the driver of the Camry allegedly fled on foot.
The suspect then ran to the Main-Kenilworth Ave. intersection, where he allegedly opened the door of an idling grey Toyota Highlander, removed the driver, made a U-turn and fled northbound on Kenilworth.
The stolen Highlander was found Tuesday in the Belmont-Roxborough Aves. area and police are asking residents to check their CCTV cameras for anything suspicious. Anyone with information can contact police at 905-546-2930 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or crimestoppershamilton.com.
