Cops said that on the evening of June 25, they were patrolling near 99 Acorn Place when they attempted to investigate a vehicle, but their cruiser was immediately rammed by the driver.
Officers were able to contain the vehicle, but the suspect attempted to flee on foot before being quickly arrested. Police said the suspect was allegedly found with a loaded Glock 25 9mm handgun.
No officers were injured during the interaction.

Demetre Hibbert, who is not legally permitted to own or possess a firearm, has been charged with four firearm-related offences as well as dangerous operation, failure to stop after an accident and obstructing a peace officer.

TORONTO MAN SOUGHT AFTER SKIPPING COURT DATE
Toronto Police are requesting the public’s assistance locating a man who failed to attend court.
Brandon Laford, 52, of Toronto, was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at 10 Armoury St. on Monday, but didn’t show up.
On Dec. 28, 2021, Brandon was charged with two counts each of assault and sexual assault with a weapon and one count each of mischief under $5,000 and assault with a weapon.

He is 5-foot-9 with a heavy build and short grey hair. If located, do not approach and call 911 immediately.

Police said that on June 11 at about 4:15 p.m., the suspect approached a woman in the Keele St.-Finch Ave. W. area. The woman then ran away and boarded a bus.
When the woman arrived at Pioneer Village Station, she saw the suspect who then allegedly continued to harass the woman before she notified a TTC employee causing the suspect to flee.
On the same day at about 4:45 p.m., the same suspect allegedly approached another woman at a bus stop in the Finch-Jane St. area and sexually assaulted her before she boarded a bus with her friend.
The suspect also boarded the bus and allegedly started shouting at the victim before exiting at the Jane and Finch Mall
Omar Ayala Rodriguez, 45, of no fixed address, was arrested Sunday and charged with sexual assault, criminal harassment, uttering threats and theft under $5,000.
