CRIME SCENE: Brampton man sought on gun charges arrested

A man wanted on gun charges in an intimate partner violence investigation in Brampton has been arrested.

Peel Regional Police allege the man was seen with a firearm on May 26. Cops acquired a search warrant for his residence and allegedly recovered a 9-mm handgun with ammunition. A warrant was then issued for his arrest and police released his image to the public.

On June 9, James Orr, 27, was arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of firearm, unauthorized possession of prohibited or restricted weapon, knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition knowing its possession is unauthorized, and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted Firearm.

He was held for bail hearing.

ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT STABBING

One man is in hospital and another in custody after a stabbing early Thursday in Toronto’s Entertainment District.

Toronto Police say they were called to Portland and King Sts. around 1:45 a.m. for reports of an altercation between two males.

A man in his 20s was stabbed and rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene. There was no immediate word on charges.

SHOT MAN WALKS INTO HOSPITAL

A shooting near the waterfront sent one man to hospital overnight Thursday.

Toronto Police were called for reports of gunshots heard in the Jameson Ave. and Lake Shore Blvd. area around 1:40 a.m.

A short time later, a male walked into a Toronto hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

There was no immediate word on the circumstances of the shooting or any suspect information.
