Cops said that on Monday around 3:30 a.m., four suspects allegedly forced their way into a home in the Bayview Ave.-Ambler Lane area, confronted the homeowner and demanded money.

Police say at least one suspect was armed with a firearm, but there were no injuries reported.

The suspects fled in a dark-coloured sedan driven by a fifth suspect, but no photo or description was available as the suspect remained in the vehicle.

WITNESSES SOUGHT AFTER MARKHAM BANK ROBBED

York Regional Police are appealing for witnesses following a bank robbery in Markham.

Cops said that on Saturday around 10:30 a.m., police responded to a robbery at a bank in the Kennedy Rd.-Major Mackenzie Dr. E. area, where a male suspect entered the bank and waited in line to speak with a teller.

Police said when he was called to a desk, the suspect made a demand for money and indicated he was armed with a knife before fleeing with cash. He was last seen walking toward Kennedy.

The suspect is a 5-foot-6 Asian male who was wearing a black sweater, black pants, black head covering, blue surgical mask and reflective sunglasses.

Cops said the bank is within a plaza with heavy foot traffic, so they are appealing to anyone who may have seen something suspicious or has dashcam footage of the area from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to contact 1-866-876-5423, Ext. 6630, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.1800222tips.com.

FEDERAL OFFENDER SOUGHT BY COPS

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is requesting the public’s help in locating a federal offender wanted on a nationwide warrant over an alleged breach of parole.

Andre Morgan, 34, is a Black male, 5-foot-2 and 140 pounds with long black dreadlocks, brown eyes and usually facial hair.

Morgan has tattoos of ADM, KADM and Stars on his left arm and is serving a sentence for possession for the purpose of trafficking.

He is known to frequent Hamilton, Toronto and the Niagara and Peel regions.

OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE USED TO DEFACE PROPERTY IN WHITBY: COPS

Durham Regional Police are aware of several incidents in the Whitby area involving the defacement of public and private property.

Cops said the language involved is offensive and has a significant impact on the Muslim community.
