CRIME SCENE: Female wounded in North York shooting

Toronto Police are investigating a shooting Sunday night that left a female injured.
Officers were called to the Driftwood Ave. and Grandravine Dr. area of North York, south of Finch Ave., around 9 p.m. for reports that someone had been shot.
They found a “female victim” who was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
There was no immediate information on any suspects.
ARREST IN HIJAB ASSAULT
A Toronto woman who is known to police has been arrested in a suspected hate-motivated assault.
Around 2:10 p.m. on July 10, Toronto Police allege a woman in the Finch Ave. W. and Weston Rd. area approached a victim wearing a hijab and “made Islamophobic comments.”
The accused also “assaulted the victim,” according to cops.
Roxanne Ingram, 52, is charged with assault and breach of probation.

TWO SOUGHT IN ATTEMPTED HOME INVASION
Cops in Vaughan are hunting firearm-wielding thugs who tried to kick in the front door of a home over the weekend.
York Regional Police say it was around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday when two males — one armed with a firearm — attempted to kick in the front door or a home in the area of Davos Rd. and Toulon Cres.
They then fled on foot. The pair are described as having thin builds and wearing face coverings and dark clothing.

2 CUFFED AFTER HANDGUN SEIZED AT TRAFFIC STOP
Two men are in custody after a loaded handgun was found during a traffic stop in Brampton.
On July 2, police found the loaded Glock 19 handgun after pulling over a car near Kennedy Rd. and Clarence St.
The vehicle’s two occupants were arrested.
Michel Downey, 18, of Mississauga, and Meh’kel Fagen, 19, of Brampton, face numerous firearm-related charges.
As well, Downey faces additional breach of recognizance and obstruction charges.

BRAMPTON MAN CHARGED AFTER LOADED WEAPON SEIZED
A 44-year-old Brampton man is facing weapon charges after a loaded firearm was seized during a vehicle stop in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police said officers were conducting a patrol Friday at about 11:30 p.m. in the Derry-Torbram Rds. area.
During the investigation, police seized a loaded Glock 29 10mm automatic firearm.
Paul King was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm and careless storage of a firearm.
