Peel Regional Police said officers arrested two individuals on May 14 during a traffic stop near Princess Royal and Living Arts Drs.
Cops allegedly seized a Glock .40-calibre firearm along with drugs from the vehicle.
Daniel Foster, 29, of Hamilton, and Nakayla Mcnish, 29, of Bowmanville, are each charged with possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm, and cocaine possession.
Foster is also accused of two counts of failing to comply with a release order other than to attend court.

UNIDENTIFIED DUO SOUGHT FOR ATTEMPTED ROBBERY IN VAUGHAN
Investigators are trying to identify two individuals sought for an attempted robbery Tuesday at a cellphone store in Vaughan.
York Regional Police said two people wearing medical masks entered the business at approximately 1:15 p.m. in the area of Bathurst and Centre Sts.
According to police, the duo approached the employees and one of them then produced an orange and red firearm while demanding workers open the safe.
The employees refused and the pair fled empty-handed in a white sedan driven by a third person, cops said.

Investigators said one suspect is Black and approximately five feet tall with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie, black track pants and black shoes while carrying one blue and one red reusable grocery bags and carrying an orange and red firearm.
The second suspect is also Black, approximately 5-foot-11, with a medium build and was wearing a black hoodie, grey track pants and black shoes.

UNDECLARED ALCOHOL INTERCEPTED AT NIAGARA CROSSING
Border officials said nearly 10,000 bottles of alcohol were recently seized at the Queenston Bridge crossing in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Canada Border Services Agency said in a social media update Tuesday that 9,624 bottles of undeclared alcohol were taken away from a commercial driver.
Officials estimate the alcohol is valued at more than $42,000.
