Police in Halton region are seeking to identify a woman accused of assaulting a loss prevention officer while attempting to steal items from a grocery store last week.
Just before 6 p.m. on Jan. 6, the suspect was spotted concealing store merchandise at the Fortinos in Oakville, on Dundas St. W. near Neyagawa Blvd.

While store security attempted to detain the woman, police said she sprayed the loss prevention officer with pepper spray before fleeing the store.
She’s described as a 5-foot-6, 130 pounds, in her late 30s with wavy black shoulder-length hair, wearing dark clothing.

ROBBERY INVESTIGATION NETS TWO ARRESTS
Two people are custody following an investigation into an armed robbery.
While police declined to release details about the robbery itself, a search warrant was executed Saturday at a home near Keele St. and Wilson Ave., where police discovered a loaded Sig Sauer handgun.
Twenty-year-old Terrell Joslyn, of Toronto, faces a number of weapons, assault, theft and possession of counterfeit money charges.
Also charged was Carlene Francis, 30, of Toronto, who also faces weapons charges.
Both appeared in court on Sunday.

POLICE INVESTIGATING OAKVILLE HOME INVASION
Three armed men who burst into an Oakville home demanding valuables and vehicles over the weekend managed to elude capture.
The home invasion happened just after 3 a.m. near Coronation Dr. and John Laird Cir. — near Eighth Line and Dundas St. E.
Police alleged that three masked men threatened the home’s sleeping residents with firearms, and later fled in their own vehicle and the victim’s Mercedes SUV.
Halton police quickly located both cars eastbound on Dundas, but the suspects abandoned the stolen car and fled into a nearby residential neighbourhood.
Police weren’t able to locate the suspects, and they remain at large.

HAMILTON POLICE DISRUPT CAR THEFTS, TWO YOUTHS ARRESTED
Police in an unmarked cruiser managed to disrupt a group of youths attempting to steal cars in Hamilton on Sunday.
The group of would-be thieves were spotted breaking into cars in a parking lot near Mohawk Rd. W. and Rice Ave. on the mountain just before 3 a.m., interrupted by the arrival of police.
Two people fled the scene, but with the help of K9 soon located one of the suspects, while the other was arrested attempting to flee in a taxi.
An electronic auto key scanning device was also located.
Both suspects, 16 and 17 years old, faces theft, mischief and possession of of a device intended for theft charges.
NO INJURES IN SCHOOL BUS FIRE
Nobody was hurt after a school bus was destroyed by fire early Monday morning.
Emergency crews were called to Earls Rd. in Huntsville, about 180 km north of Toronto, after the fire broke out.
The driver and all students aboard the bus were safely evacuated.
The bus was almost completely destroyed in the blaze, which threatened nearby power lines.
