CRIME SCENE: ID updated of Quebec woman wanted for Oshawa police interaction

A Quebec woman, one of two people wanted after an officer was struck by a vehicle fleeing an attempted arrest in Oshawa on March 21, has now been properly identified.
Durham Regional Police allege Asmaa Ouadria, 24, falsely identified herself to investigators, as well as the courts, as Assia Ouadria, 31.

She is wanted for fail to comply with release order, obstruct police, and evade lawful custody, and additional charges are expected, police say.
The second person is the car driver who is wanted for dangerous operation and fail to remain.

ARMED ROBBER SOUGHT IN TORONTO
Toronto Police are requesting the public’s help identifying a suspect in connection with two armed retail robberies at the same place.
On Jan. 6 around 4:20 a.m., a masked male entered a retail store in the Bloor and Dufferin Sts. area, approached the checkout counter, produced a handgun, and made a demand for cash.
Police say he took a quantity of cash before fleeing.

The suspect is described as about 6 feet with a thin build. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous and to call 911 immediately if spotted.
SHOTS FIRED AT GEORGINA HOME
York Regional Police have charged a 21-year-old Toronto man and are searching for a second suspect after shots were fired at a home in Georgina.
Cops say on Nov. 3, 2024 around 11 p.m., police arrived at a residence on Danny Wheeler Blvd., near Valleo St., and saw the upstairs bedroom window of the home was shattered with what appeared to be bullet holes.
Officers found numerous shell casings on the driveway and on the road in front of the home.
No one was injured in what police are considering a targeted incident.
At least two suspects were seen fleeing the area in a white SUV and with the help of Hamilton Police, investigators identified a suspect.
On Thursday, Vishaal Suthagar was charged with three firearm-related charges and one count each of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and fail to comply with release order
At the time of his arrest, Suthagar was on bail for previous unrelated charges, police said.

TWO SEPARATE DRUG BUSTS IN HAMILTON LEAD TO ARRESTS
Two men face numerous charges following two separate drug arrests in Steeltown on Thursday.
Hamilton Police say officers were in the area of Jackson St. W. when they saw a 64-year-old man wanted on a warrant and followed him to a convenience store where he was arrested.
Police say a search allegedly revealed a quantity of cocaine and fentanyl.
Mark Ribson, of Hamilton, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, possession of a controlled substance – cocaine, proceeds under $5000, failure to comply with probation, and possession under $5000.
Shortly after, police allege officers observed two males openly consuming drugs from a glass pipe near Barton St. and investigators covertly followed them before placing the both under arrest.
Police say a search of one suspect allegedly led to the seizure of a quantity of drugs and, subsequently, the arrest of a 33-year-old man.
Brandon Reid, of Hamilton, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, and possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.

BANDIT SOUGHT FOR ARMED BANK ROBBERY IN STEELTOWN
The hunt is on for an unidentified man who robbed a bank in Hamilton at gunpoint on Thursday night.
Hamilton Police say the bandit entered the financial institution on Upper Wenworth St. around 5:25 p.m. and pointed a firearm at employees demanding cash before fleeing in a dark-coloured sedan.
Investigators have now released images of a suspect hoping members of the public will recognize him and come forward.
The crook is described as a light-skinned male, who was wearing a black work jacket with yellow reflective safety markings, dark pants, black shoes and a dark grey hat with a circular white logo.
