CRIME SCENE: London man accused of sexually assaulting teen girl in Niagara Region

A 25-year-old man from London, Ont., is facing sex crime charges after a 15-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted.

Niagara Regional Police also believe there may be more victims in the GTA and elsewhere in the Golden Horseshoe.

Police said the female victim met a man on the internet using the Snapchat app. The man became friends with the victim, arranging to meet her in person and provide her with cannabis.

In August 2023, the victim met the suspect in Welland after he travelled to the Niagara Region.

The victim was allegedly sexually assaulted in a vehicle while the suspect was driving.

Saad Jalal Ismail Aldakhi surrendered himself to police in Niagara Falls on Friday. He was charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

“As a result of the ongoing investigation, detectives have received information that there may be more victims in Niagara, Toronto and the GTA,” police said in a release.

COPS HURT IN COLLISION

Two Toronto Police officers were hospitalized on Saturday night after being involved in a North York collision.

It happened at 8:15 p.m. when a police vehicle was involved in a collision in the area of Hwy. 404 and Sheppard Ave.

One officer suffered a minor injury and the second officer was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The incident was under investigation to determine what caused the driver to strike the officers’ vehicle.

EAST-END STABBING PROBED

A man was stabbed in the east end on Sunday afternoon.

Toronto Police were called at 3:48 p.m. to the area of Purcell Square and Kennedy Rd. for reports that a man had been stabbed.

Police located a man in his 40s with stab wounds and he was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
