CRIME SCENE: Man charged after Mississauga traffic stop leads to alleged gun seizure

A 25-year-old Oakville man is facing nine charges after a traffic stop on April 3 around City Centre Dr. and Duke of York Blvd. in Mississauga led to the alleged seizure of a loaded firearm and the driver attemping to flee on foot.
Jaidis Brooks-Reynolds is facing six firearm-related charges plus possession for the purpose of distributing, possession of opioids and drive under suspension.

COPS SEEK HELP REGARDING ANCASTER HOME INVASION
Hamilton Police are asking the public for help in connection with an early morning home invasion Tuesday at 305 Garner Rd. West in Ancaster.
Cops say that around 4:45 a.m., a woman was awoken by the sound of breaking glass in her home, followed by an unknown male walking into her bedroom and demanding the keys to her vehicle.
The victim stated that the male also requested her phone and said that he would kill her if she did not comply, gesturing as if he had a weapon in his jacket pocket.
After a brief standoff, the suspect left the house in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a white male, 28-32 years of age, with an average build and a blue or black hoodie sweater with the hood up.
Police are appealing to residents in the area to check their CCTV cameras for anything suspicious between 4:30-5 a.m.

COPS APPEALING FOR MORE VICTIMS IN INTIMATE IMAGES INVESTIGATION
Hamilton Police are searching for more victims in the investigation of non-consensual distribution of intimate images.
In December 2024, cops said they received two separate reports from female victims that their intimate content had been shared on Snapchat by the same unknown person.
Police say the investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed at a Stoney Creek Mountain residence, where several electronic devices were seized.
Further investigation was conducted, which led to a suspect being identified.
On Monday, an 18-year-old Stoney Creek man was charged with non-consensual distribution of an intimate video, non-consensual distribution of an intimate image and extortion.
Police believe there may be more victims and encourage anyone with information to come forward.
The accused used the Snapchat usernames of “abbiebaitzer” and “isaiahhoply”.

TWO ARRESTED IN MISSISSAUGA AUTO THEFT CASE
Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged two people in connection with an auto-theft investigation in Mississauga.
Cops say on March 29 at 11:20 a.m., they were alerted to a stolen vehicle in the area of Willow Way and Riverside Place in Mississauga. This led to the capture of two individuals.
Asmaa Ouadria, 24, of Quebec was arrested and charged with possession of break-in instruments, possession of device to obtain unauthorized use of a computer system, three counts of failure to comply with release order and breach of probation order.
At the time of the arrest, Ouadria was wanted by Durham Regional Police for similar offences.
A youth was also arrested in connection to this incident and charged with possession of property obtained by crime.
