CRIME SCENE: Man sought in 2 mischief incidents at same Hamilton home

Hamilton Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a male suspect in two mischief incidents targeting the same house.

Cops alleged that on Sept. 19, video surveillance footage captured a male suspect in the early morning hours pouring blue paint on the victim’s porch on Young St., near Catharine St. S.

The man is described as about 30 years old. He was carrying a red backpack and wearing a black hooded jacket and a baseball hat with a red brim.

Police say on Sept. 24, the victims woke up to find themselves targeted again with hate-motivated comments spray painted extensively on the residence and the vehicle, the latter whose windshield had been smashed.

VAUGHAN ROBBERY

At least five suspects are sought following a retail commercial robbery in Vaughan last Saturday just before 4 p.m.

York Regional Police said when officers arrived at the location in the Rutherford Rd.-Hwy. 400 area, they found a 38-year-old employee with a minor injury that did not require medical attention and a second employee without physical injuries.

Officers were told when the first suspect was let into the store, he held the door open for the remaining four suspects to enter, one of whom police said was armed with a handgun.

Police say the suspects stole a quantity of items and fled in an awaiting dark-coloured sport utility vehicle that was last seen heading westbound on Rutherford.

Suspect No. 1 is described as a Black male with a thin build, about 13-15 years old, wearing a black Nike hooded sweater, black pants, black shoes, white socks and no gloves or mask.

Suspect No. 2 is described as a Black male, about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9, with a thin build, wearing a blue tracksuit with white stripes and hood up, a dark face covering, black gloves, white sneakers with black accents, and holding a black handgun in his right hand.

Suspect No. 3 is described as a male with a light complexion, about 5-foot-8, with a thin build, wearing a black hoodie with white lettering on the back, brown pants, white sneakers, black and white gloves, sunglasses and a beige scarf over his face.

Suspect No. 4 is described as a male with a light complexion, about 5-foot-8, thin build, wearing a black hoodie with writing on the back, blue jeans, white sneakers, white gloves and a grey face covering.

Suspect No. 5 is described as about 5-foot-8, with a thin build, wearing a black winter parka with black fur on the hood, black pants, black sneakers, a medical mask and black gloves.

FAIL TO REMAIN

A 72-year-old Mississauga man has been charged in relation to a serious fail-to-remain collision.

York Regional Police said the incident happened on Nov. 8 at about 5:25 p.m.

Cops said the victim, an 80-year-old man, was crossing midblock on Creditview Rd. south of Eglinton Ave. W. in Mississauga when he was struck by a white SUV.

Police said the driver of the SUV stopped briefly and then fled the scene. The victim was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

On Dec. 3, the accused was arrested and charged.

Theodoros Diamantouros has been charged with failure to stop after accident resulting in bodily harm.
