A second Oshawa man faces charges following an investigation into the making and exchange of child porn.

Durham Regional Police said while one man faces charges, officers received information on Aug. 30 that a second male from Oshawa was making and exchanging child pornographic content online.

Officers attended the man’s residence and seized electronic devices. The accused was then taken into custody without incident.

A 38-year-old man has been charged with possessing child pornography, making child pornography, and other offences. His name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Police announced earlier this week that 32-year-old Corey Zych, of Oshawa, has been and charged with luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication, and other offences.

Man sought for armed carjacking in Burlington

An unidentified man is sought following an armed carjacking in Burlington on Wednesday.

Halton Regional Police said a motorist pulled into a residential driveway at about 1:55 a.m. in the North Shore Blvd. E.-King Rd. area.

After exiting the driver’s seat, the victim was approached by a thug armed with a handgun. Police said it’s believed that the suspect was hiding in a nearby bush.

Police said the carjacker demanded the keys to the 2021 BMW sedan and fled in the vehicle along North Shore Blvd, E.

The victim was not physically harmed in the carjacking.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5-foot-9 and wearing a mask covering the lower portion of his face.

Cops hunt suspects after vehicle torched

Police in York Region say they are seeking two suspects after a vehicle was set ablaze in Richmond Hill on Tuesday.

Police say a homeowner in the Yonge St.-Edgar Ave. area reported his vehicle was set on fire while parked in the driveway around 9 p.m.

According to police, the victim was able to extinguish the fire before the arrival of emergency personnel.

Investigators released video footage that shows two suspects, who arrive in a black Ford Expedition sports utility vehicle, approach the home on foot.

Cops say it is possible one of the suspects may have suffered burns caused by lighting the fire.

2 sought for Oakville home invasion, stolen SUV

Two suspects are being sought after a vehicle was stolen following a home invasion in Oakville early Wednesday morning.

Halton Regional Police say two suspects entered a home on Heritage Way near Upper Middle Rd. and Third Line by breaking the glass on the residence front door just before 4 a.m.

Police say both suspects were wearing dark clothing and masks and made their way to the upper floor of the home.

According to police, one suspect confronted a male adult resident demanding the keys for the Mercedes SUV parked in the driveway before striking the resident in the face with a hammer. The suspects then stole the keys and fled in the vehicle.

The resident sustained minor physical injuries as a result of being struck by the hammer, cops said.

Investigators are appealing to the public for any video footage in the area of Heritage Way, Upper Middle Rd. and Third Line around the time of the incident.

Elderly women sexually assaulted in Mississauga, cops allege

Two elderly women were the victims of sexual assault Tuesday morning in Mississauga, police allege.

And investigators with Peel Regional Police are seeking to identify a suspect believed to be responsible.

One alleged victim, a 96-year-old woman, was walking in the area of Mississauga Valley Blvd. and the Cooksville Creek Trail at approximately 7:30 a.m. when the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted her before fleeing the area.

About 45 minutes later, another alleged victim, a 66-year-old woman, was walking along the Cooksville Creek Trail, between Mississauga Valley Blvd. and Burnhamthorpe Rd. E. when the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted her before fleeing the area.

There were no physical injuries sustained by either of the victims, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s and approximately 5-foot-8, skinny build, clean shaven, wearing a plain zip-up hoodie and straight-cut black jeans.
