Toronto Police said they responded on Friday to a call about unknown trouble in the Warden Ave.-St. Clair Ave. E area, where an attacker choked, threatened to kill and assaulted the victim “multiple times.”
Police said the victim had been confined to their apartment, but was able to escape and call authorities for help.
The assailant fled from the area before the police arrived.

Toronto Police said they responded to a break-and-enter call at a shopping mall on Sept. 24 at about 10:35 a.m. in the Yonge St.-Dundas St. W. area after a suspect was seen breaking into a retail store and taking cellphones and other items on two occasions — Sept. 22 at about 9:45 p.m. and Sept. 23 at 2:46 a.m.
The suspect fled on foot both times.
Tylor Duhamel is wanted for two counts of break and enter and three counts of breach of probation. He is clean shaven, 6-foot and 181 pounds with a thin build, black spikey hair and brown eyes. He was wearing an Edmonton Oilers jersey, black pants and white running shoes.

COPS ASSAULTED AT RALLY
One person is in custody after a police officer was allegedly assaulted at a rally in North York.
Toronto Police said the incident happened just after 2 p.m. on Sunday at a demonstration in the Bathurst St.-Sheppard Ave. area, but had yet to release details about whether any charges were laid.
A section of Hwy. 401 has reopened in the east end of the GTA amid a “sudden death” investigation.
The OPP’s Highway Safety Division said just before noon that the westbound lanes were closed between the Westney and Salem Rds. exits, as officers investigated near the Harwood Ave. overpass. The eastbound lanes were unaffected.
The highway was reopened by about 4:30 p.m., although police did not release any other details about the incident.
