Durham Regional Police said the attacks happened on Monday within hours of each other and it is believed the same suspect is involved in both cases. In each incident, the victim was travelling eastbound from Union Station with the cops responding at Pickering GO Station.
The female in the first incident, which police responded to at about 7:40 p.m., was hit in the face multiple times before being transported to a hospital with serious injuries. Police said the suspect exited the train after the assault.
The female in the second incident, which police responded to at about 9:20 p.m., was able to flee to a nearby cab, where people waited with her until officers responded. She was then taken to a hospital to be treated for her injuries.
