CRIME SCENE: Woman killed in Scarborough stabbing

A woman died Sunday after she was stabbed in a Scarborough home, according to Toronto Police.

Officers found the stabbing victim after responding to a residence on Merkley Square, in the Ellesmere-Orton Park Rds., just before 5 p.m.

Police said she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers took a man into custody. There was no immediate word on possible charges or whether the man knew the victim.

Wounded man turns up at hospital

A man showed up at a hospital less than an hour after gunfire erupted in the city’s Entertainment District early Saturday.

But it was not immediately known if the man was wounded that shooting or a separate incident.

Toronto Police officers responded to the area of Queen St. W. and Duncan St. – west of university Ave. – just after 4 a.m.

No victims were located at the scene but the wounded man turned up at a hospital around 4:50 a.m.

His injury is not considered life-threatening.

TTC BUS CRASH IN REXDALE INJURES WOMAN

A woman suffered minor injuries when a TTC bus hit a hydro pole in Rexdale on Saturday morning.

Toronto Police say the collision happened in the area of Humberwood and Rexdale Blvds. – east of Hwy. 427 – around 10:40 a.m.

Hydro wires and the pole were brought down in bus loop.

One woman was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

No further details were immediately available.
