At a press conference in Toronto on Tuesday, Doug Ford said he would not watch the film and disagreed with its creators.

Ford said he spoke to someone who had seen the documentary and was “deeply infuriated” by it.

The documentary’s director, Shianne Brown, told The Canadian Press last week that she had approached Doug Ford about participating in the film, but he “kindly declined.”

The documentary features archival footage and interviews with journalists and people close to Rob Ford, chronicling the populist wave that brought him to power in 2010 and his struggle with addiction in the spotlight.

“It’s just disgusting. Leave this guy alone, let him rest in peace. Let his family rest in peace,” Doug Ford said Tuesday about the documentary, which is now available to watch.

Rob Ford died of cancer in 2016 at the age of 46. He served as mayor until 2014.
