Another day, another speeder on a GTA highway.

Mississauga OPP say a 20-year-old driver was clocked going 197 kilometres per hour — “NASCAR speed,” as one person posted on X — on Highway 403 near Erin Mills Parkway, the OPP Highway Safety Division posted to X.

The Mississauga driver was charged with stunt driving, got a 30-day licence suspension, and a 14-day vehicle impoundment.

The hashtag police used for the post was #courtdate.

They did not provide any more information on the driver.

Reaction on X was swift and negative.

“Wow wow wow that’s NASCAR speed coming out of a turn. Have to make the stunt law harsher crack city Ontario,” wrote one person.

Another poster agreed.

“1st offence – suspend licence for 1 year and $3,000 fine … 2nd offence – remove license PERMANENTLY,” they said.
