A transport truck brought down an entire overhead highway sign on Hwy. 401 near Whitby on Jan. 6 when the driver left its bucket up.
Luckily there were no injuries but it caused hours of standstill traffic.
In that case, a 24-year-old driver from Brampton was charged with operating an overheight vehicle, failure to remain at the scene and careless driving.
Last October, another driver was charged with driving an unsafe vehicle and not having a prescribed inspection done when a raised dump truck container hit an overpass on Hwy. 401 in Mississauga near Mavis Rd. and was stuck there.
Three cars crashed in the collector lanes nearby and traffic was heavily backed up in Mississauga and Milton for hours.
