Durham Regional Police said that officers responded on Monday at about 4 p.m. to the Shoppers Drug Mart at 910 Dundas St. W. in Whitby for reports of a group of males inside the store allegedly stealing fragrances.
Police said employees were quick to notify authorities, who arrived on scene and took the seven youths into custody.
The suspects can’t be named as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
A 16-year-old Ajax male is charged with theft under $5,000, disguise with intent, failing to comply with a release order and failing to comply with a probation order.
A 14-year-old male from Ajax is charged with theft under $5,000 and disguise with Intent.
A 15-year-old male from Ajax is charged with theft under $5,000, disguise with intent, failing to comply with a release order and possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon.
