The hunt is on for a firebug after patio furniture was set ablaze in East York last week.
Toronto Police say emergency crews responded to a fire call in the area of Danforth and Jackman Aves. – east of Broadview Ave. – around 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 24.
A man was in the courtyard at the rear of the building and started a fire that “resulted in damage to the building’s patio furniture,” Const. Stephanie Miceli alleged in a statement released Wednesday.
While the suspect has not been identified, she said he may go by the name “Don.”
He’s described as 50 to 60 years old, 5-foot-9, with a slim build and long grey hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured jacket, a blue denim button up shirt, grey sweater, black pants, and black and white basketball shoes.
Investigators have released a security camera image of a suspect hoping members of the public will recognize him and come forward.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is urged to contact police at 416-808-5504 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
