Four GTA teens and a 42-year-old woman died in a crash in Huntsville, according to the OPP.
OPP officers and emergency crews responded to a collision involving two SUVs — a Mercedes and a Ford — that happened Saturday around 11:10 p.m. on Hwy. 60, near Hidden Valley Rd., killing five people.
Inside the Mercedes were four teenagers — ages 15-17 — from the North York and Richmond Hill area. All four were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Ford was a 42-year-old female from Huntsville. She was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Hwy. 60 remained closed for several hours while police investigated and members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. The highway reopened early Sunday morning.
A spokesperson for the OPP said on Sunday afternoon that they will not be identifying the victims and the investigation is continuing.
