Toronto Police say officers responded to the stabbing at a house near Brownspring Rd. and Pitfield Rds. – southwest of Sheppard Ave. E. and McCowan Rd. – around 1:40 p.m. and found the senior citizen suffering from “significant injuries.”
“The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries,” Const. Ashley Visser said in a statement released Saturday. “It is alleged that a youth stabbed the victim.”
The teenage suspect was located soon after and taken into custody without incident.

The youth and victim were known to each other but police have not elaborated on their relationship.
Speaking to reporters at the scene Friday afternoon, acting Insp. Brian Maslowski said he would “not get into the relationship of the suspect and the victim.”
“However, I can say that they do live in the same residence,” he said.
No further details about the violent incident have been released.
“It’s very tragic and our thoughts go out to the family, Maslowski said. “I can’t even imagine the heartbreak dealing with such a significant incident.
