The girl was walking in the area when she was approached by a strange man, who then grabbed her, covered her mouth and dragged her 60 metres to an SUV.
At the vehicle, the suspect tried to force the girl inside but she broke free and ran away.
He is described as white, 40-50, 5-foot-8, with a skinny build and short grey hair.
He drove away in what is believed to be a red Mazda CX-5 with tinted windows.
“As far as I am aware she is fine. She didn’t suffer any significant injury,” Const. David Hopkinson told CTV News.
“She is probably very shaken up, very afraid.”
Police released a security camera image of the car that detectives say was used by the suspect.
