Hamilton Police say a female patient, whose identity has not been released, was found “unresponsive” at St. Joseph’s Healthcare, West 5th Campus, around 4 p.m. on April 23.
“At first, it was believed the patient had died from a medical episode,” police said in a statement. “However, a post-mortem examination later revealed that the death was not due to natural causes.”
“As per protocol, Hamilton Police were contacted to investigate,” cops added.

TWO GUNS SEIZED IN SEPARATE VEHICLE STOPS IN MISSISSAUGA
Three men face charges after two handguns were allegedly seized in separate “proactive” vehicle stops in Mississauga last weekend.
And one of the accused in one of the incidents was already subject to a court-ordered weapons ban when he was allegedly caught with a firearm.

In the first case, Peel Regional Police say officers from the Strategic and Tactical Enforcement Policing Unit (STEP) investigated a vehicle near of Shawson Dr. and Atlantic Dr. – an industrial area northeast of Dixie Rd. and Hwy. 401 – shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Friday.
As a result, a firearm was seized and two men were arrested,” police alleged in a statement released Wednesday.

Vincent Chang, 29, of Newmarket, and And Hidaya Bouzrara, 23, of Toronto, are each charged with charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and several firearms offences.
STEP Unit officers investigated a second vehicle in the area of Torbram and Drew Rds. around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday.
As a result, a firearm was seized and a man was arrested, police said.

Jae-Quonne Hamilton, 24, of Toronto, is charged with possession of a weapon contrary to a court order and several firearms offences.
At the time of his arrest, police said Hamilton was under a firearms prohibition order.

MAN ALLEGEDLY CAUGHT WITH LOADED GUN, STASH OF DRUGS IN OAKWOOD VILLAGE
A 21-year-old man faces a slew of charges after he was allegedly caught with a loaded handgun and a stash of drugs in Oakwood Village earlier this week.
Toronto Police say officers responded to an “unknown trouble” call in the area of Vaughan Rd. and St. Clair Ave. W. around 2 a.m. on Monday.
It is alleged that a man was inside an apartment building when he pointed a firearm at another person around midnight, Const. Stephanie Miceli said in a statement released Wednesday.

She said officers from 13 Division Major Crime Unit investigated and subsequently identified a suspect.
Officers made an arrest in the area of Vaughan Rd. and Oakwood Ave. on Tuesday.
At the time of his arrest, officers allegedly seized a loaded firearm, a loaded magazine with rounds of ammunition, a quantity of fentanyl, a quantity of cocaine, a quantity of crack cocaine, a quantity of hydromorphone, a quantity of amphetamine salts, a quantity of methylphenidate, and a large quantity of cash.
