Hamilton motorist allegedly armed with crossbow: Cops

Officers found a 34-year-old man armed with a crossbow after spotting an alleged traffic violation, according to Hamilton Police.
Police said officers spotted a driver who appeared to be violating the Highway Traffic Act around 11 a.m. on Thursday.
Police followed the vehicle to an encampment near Birch Ave. where officers say they allegedly saw a man in possession of a wooden crossbow, complete with bolts.
Police said they approached the vehicle and placed the driver under arrest.
Further investigation allegedly revealed the man with the crossbow was violating a weapons prohibition order as well as a probation order.
He was charged with possession contrary to order and fail to comply with a probation order. Police did not pursue any Highway Traffic Act charges.
