A restaurant in North York has been hit with multiple infractions from city health inspectors.
Petit Potato at 11 Ravel Rd. (it also has a location nearby at Empress Walk as well as downtown on Bay St.) received nine violations — two crucial, four significant and three minor — on Thursday, according to Toronto Public Health.
Petit Potato, which specializes in Asian cuisine and boasts a massive menu, says it offers up traditional and eclectic dishes, from ramen and udon to specialty items such as omurice, and teppan pasta.

The two crucial infractions were failing to ensure a food handler on the premises refrains from conduct that could result in contamination of food, as well as handling ice in an unsanitary manner.
Two of the four violations considered “significant” were using utensils “not in good repair,” and the establishment failing to protect against breeding of pests.
Also, the mechanical equipment was not maintained to maintain rinse water at 82C, and using the hand-washing station for reasons other than for the hand-washing of employees.
As for the minor infractions, the ceiling and floors of Petit Potato’s food-handling room were not maintained while the restaurant failed to ensure equipment surfaces were sanitized as necessary.
