High Park — which has been closed to the public since the cherry blossom bloom — reopened Sunday night, according to Toronto Mayor John Tory.
Tory said in a tweet that park staff has advised him that the cherry blossom bloom has ended.
“Thank you to everyone who enjoys this park for their patience and understanding — you have helped us fight #COVID19 and avoid large crowds gathering.”

High Park is reopening to the public starting tonight at 8PM. Parks staff advise we are through the cherry blossom bloom. Thank you to everyone who enjoys this park for their patience and understanding - you have helped us fight #COVID19 and avoid large crowds gathering. pic.twitter.com/NtMZ0aiMX3
While parks have remained open during the pandemic, amenities such as playgrounds, parking lots, and basketball courts have been closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The cherry blossom bloom in High Park is a popular annual attraction, with thousands attending to see the pink flowers on the trees. The city closed High Park on April 30 in an effort to stop large crowds from congregating.
