Cops began an investigation on Feb. 9, 2022 after receiving information regarding a child who had been sexually assaulted while participating in private hockey lessons with Lee between 2016-2022, beginning when the boy was approximately eight years old.
Lee had coached hockey throughout Ontario for many years and had been a camp director with Haliburton Hockey Haven since 2016, police say.
Cops say he’s also a former teacher in the York Region District School Board, where he coached sports and was the Head Tennis Professional at the Markham Tennis Club.

Lee was arrested and initially charged with four counts each of sexual assault and sexual interference with a person under 16 on Feb. 11, 2022, then released on bail soon after with conditions that included he not associate with children.
A couple of weeks later, police revealed additional charges of sexual assault and sexual interference of a person under 16 had been laid against Lee for allegations involving a 10-year-old boy at Haliburton Hockey Haven camp during the summer of 2021.
Lee was convicted on Sept. 6 of two counts of sexual interference against a child under 16 relating to both victims, police say.
He is currently out on bail awaiting his sentencing on Nov. 25 and remains under the same conditions imposed by the courts when he was released from custody in 2022.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to call the Counter Exploitation Unit at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7071, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
