The hunt is on for a gunman and his getaway driver after a man was wounded in a ‘targeted’ shooting in Markham on Tuesday.
York Regional Police say the victim was leaving a business in the area of Green Lane and Guardsman Rd. around 7:40 p.m. when he was approached by a male who shot him multiple times with a handgun.
“Investigators believe the incident was targeted,” police said in a statement released Friday.
The shooter then fled in a waiting Honda Civic driven by a second person, police said. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male who was wearing a black hooded sweater.
There is no available description available for the driver of the getaway vehicle, which is described as a stolen black Honda Civic 10th generation with a red Supreme brand tow strap on the front passenger side and a red and white MUGEN sticker on top of the windshield on the passenger side.

Cops say at the time of the shooting the vehicle had a blue and white Ontario licence plate CMET480.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses and to anyone who has video surveillance of the area, or who may have captured dashcam video on nearby roadways at the time of the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7241, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
