An unidentified man is sought for a frightening knifepoint home invasion in Riverdale on Tuesday morning.

Toronto Police say officers responded to a break-and-enter in progress in the area of Broadview Ave. and Gerrard St. E. around 3 a.m.

“A lone male suspect attended a residence and forced open the rear door to gain entry,” Const. Viktor Sarudi said in a statement released Wednesday. “He produced a knife and confronted the victim.”

He said the home invader “assaulted the victim” and fled the area empty-handed.

Hold Up Squad investigators have released images of a suspect hoping members of the public may recognize him and come forward to help identify him.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his late 20s, about six-feet-tall, with a disheveled appearance.
