A car spotted travelling the speed you would expect on a street not a major highway has led to impaired driving charges.
Aurora Ontario Provincial Police on Sunday evening posted to X, formerly Twitter, thanking the six witnesses who alerted them of a driver going only 40 km/h in the southbound lanes of Highway 400 at Innisfil Beach Rd.
Police in Durham Region say they also found an impaired driver asleep at the wheel of a car in Ajax.
On Monday at 2 a.m., officers found a 34-year-old man passed out at the wheel in the area of Audley and Rossland Rds.
Cops say when an officer knocked on the window, the man rolled his vehicle forward into a police cruiser.
The Ajax resident — who Durham Regional Police note was out on parole — has been charged with operation while impaired and fail to comply with breath demand. His name was not released.
