An 18-year-old man wanted for second-degree murder after the fatal shooting of a youth last month near downtown Brampton is in custody.

Peel Regional Police on Thursday asked for the public’s help in locating Damian Walker, of Brampton, in the April 23 shooting in the Beech St.-Church St. E. area that left a young person dead.

That was the same night Peel cops were investigating a “suspicious death” at a building in the 20 block of Beech St., although details about the incident have been scarce.

Sgt. Tyler Bell-Morena told the Toronto Sun that the victim was a male under the age of 18 and that while the shooting remains under investigation, it appears to be an isolated incident.

On Friday, police said Walker was in custody. No further details were immediately provided.
