Toronto Police say the single-vehicle crash occurred near Bellamy Rd. N. and Cedar Brae Blvd., south of Lawrence Ave. E., around 5:30 p.m.
“A 22-year-old man was driving a 2009 Hyundai Sonata northbound on Bellamy Rd. N. at high speeds,” Const. Victor Kwong said Wednesday. “For reasons unknown, the vehicle crossed into the southbound lanes, left the roadway and struck a house.”
He said the driver was rushed to hospital with “life-threatening injuries.”
“Police are asking local residents, businesses and drivers who may have security or dash-camera footage of the area or incident to contact investigators,” Kwong said.
