Man, 27, faces drug charge after Mississauga traffic stop

A 27-year-old man faces a drug charge after he was allegedly caught with cocaine during a traffic stop in Mississauga.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers from their Mississauga detachment stopped a vehicle on the QEW near Erin Mills Pkwy. on Thursday.

“As a result of the investigation, officers seized approximately four kilograms of suspected cocaine from the vehicle,” the OPP said in a statement released Friday.

The driver was arrested.

Rocco Laurenti, of Niagara Region, is charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.

The accused was scheduled to appear in court in Brampton for a bail hearing on Friday.

“The investigation remains ongoing,” police said.
