Man, 27, hit by pickup truck in Oshawa

The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a trauma centre

A 27-year-old man is fighting for his life after being hit by a pickup truck in north Oshawa early Saturday.

Durham Regional Police say officers responded to Simcoe St. N., north of Howden Rd., for a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle just after 1:30 a.m.

A man was walking southbound on the east side of the street when he was hit by a northbound Dodge Ram, police said Saturday.

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre in critical condition.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said.
