Durham Regional Police say the first incident saw a woman attacked at knifepoint at an apartment building near St. Lawrence St. and Simcoe St. S., in Oshawa, just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
“A male armed with a knife sexually assaulted a female in the lobby of the building,” Const. Nicholas Gluckstein said in a statement released Thursday.
He said the assailant and victim left the area prior to police arrival.
“Officers searched the area and located the victim a short distance away suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” Gluckstein added.
The next day, around 1:10 p.m., the same man was allegedly seen in the area of Harwood Ave. S. and Hunt St., in Ajax, where it is believed he sexually assaulted a second victim.
