Man, 29, shot dead in downtown Hamilton

No arrests have been made and police have released no suspect descriptions

A 29-year-old man was gunned down in downtown Hamilton on Friday night.

Hamilton Police officers responded to a call for “shots fired” near York Blvd. and Queen St. N. around 10:45 p.m.

“Upon arriving, police found a male suffering from a gunshot wound,” police said in a news release. “He was transported to hospital and pronounced deceased.”

The victim has since been identified Daniel Musafiri, a Hamilton resident.

No arrests have been made.

People were seen fleeing the area but police said they had no suspect or vehicle descriptions.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time or have video evidence to reach out to Detective Dave Tsuchida at 905-546-4123.
