Peel Regional Police say the two elderly men were assaulted just over a week apart and investigators allege the same assailant was behind both incidents.

The attacker then fled the area.
The senior was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
In the second incident, a 77-year-old Mississauga man was walking in the same area – near Applewood Hills Trail and Bloor St. – when a man approached from behind and struck him with a weapon around 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
The assailant then fled the area.
The elderly man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators subsequently identified a suspect and arrested him on Friday.
