A 33-year-old man is accused of deliberately setting a Mississauga industrial building ablaze last weekend causing $3 million in damage.
And investigators believe explosives were used to spark the fire.
Peel Regional Police say the blaze erupted at the industrial building – located near Tomken Rd. and Meyerside Dr. – on Dec. 8.
“The fire damaged the building and numerous high-end vehicles inside the premises, resulting in approximately $3 million in damage,” police said in a statement.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators subsequently identified a suspect and executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a residence in Toronto on Friday.
Mathan Yoseph was arrested without incident and charged with arson, break-and-enter, two counts of mischief over $5000, and using explosives.
The accused was held pending a bail hearing in Brampton.
“This is believed to be an isolated incident,” police said.
