A Rexdale neighbourhood sustained some fresh scars as a 33-year-old man was gunned down early Saturday.

Toronto Police Forensic officers spent the morning collecting shell casings and other evidence from the nearby playground.
Officers initially responded to the complex just before 12:30 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire.

The victim, who may have been chased by his killer, was located and died later in hospital.
Yonis Mohamed, 33, of Toronto, has been identified as the city’s 31st murder victim of the year.
No arrests have been made and no suspect description has been released.
Abdul pointed to several nearby CCTV cameras saying he believes police will catch the shooter.
He then pointed to the driver’s side door of his white minivan where silver duct tape covered up a bullet hole — a scar his vehicle sustained as he pulled out of the parking lot back in February.
“I was just going out there,” Abdul said, pointing to the parking lot driveway that exits onto Martin Grove Rd.

Once police tore down the yellow crime scene tape and cleared the scene, the desolate complex soon filled with residents leaving their homes to take a look around and snap cellphone photos of the bullet holes in the wall.
There have been numerous shootings in recent days, including Tuesday’s shocking shootout in the Entertainment District that killed Toronto rapper Dimarjio Jenkins, 21, aka Houdini.
Gunfire also erupted around 5 p.m. Thursday behind Ted Reeve Arena, near Main and Gerrard Sts., leaving a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Less than half an hour later on Springhurst Ave., near Jameson Ave., another person was hit by gunfire.
