The hunt is on for a gunman after a man was shot in Vaughan Wednesday morning.
York Regional Police say officers responded to the shooting on Lebovix Campus Dr. – northwest of Bathurst St. and Rutherford Rd. – shortly before 10:30 a.m.
“A 33-year-old male was located with gunshot injuries,” police said in a message posted on X, explaining the victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Police are looking for a male who fled the area in an older black sedan.
Lebovic Campus Dr. was shut down between Ilan Ramon Blvd. and Givon St. while cops investigated.

While the shooting occurred in a predominantly Jewish neighbourhood, Const. Lisa Moskaluk stressed “there is absolutely no evidence it could be hate motivated.”
“Early information shows that this was a targeted shooting, not related to anyone’s ethnicity,” she said, adding it is believed to be an “isolated” incident and “there is no risk to the public.”
