Man, 36, accused of assault and mischief in East York

A 36-year-old man faces assault and mischief charges following an incident that allegedly occurred in East York earlier this month.

Toronto Police say officers responded to an assault call at an address in the area of Dawes Rd. and Gower St. – south of St. Clair Ave. E. – around 11 p.m. on June 12.

“It is alleged that the accused entered the victim’s residential apartment,” Const. Sinderela Chung said in a statement released Saturday, adding the accused allegedly “assaulted the victim and caused mischief to their property before fleeing the area.”

Investigators subsequently identified a suspect and released an image of him on June 15.

The wanted man was located and arrested on Friday, Chung said.

Emery McNichols, of Toronto, is charged with one count of assault and one count of mischief under $5,000.
