Toronto Police say a 65-year-old man is dead after being hit by a vehicle Saturday night in the city’s east end.
Police were called to the scene just before 10 p.m., when the man was struck in the centre lane of the eastbound lanes of Eglinton Ave., near Torrence Rd.

They say the pedestrian was crossing mid-block from the south side to the north side when he was struck by a vehicle being driven by a 41-year-old man.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
They are requesting local residents, businesses, and drivers who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident to contact investigators.

BRAMPTON MAN, 38, ACCUSED OF BREAK-IN SPREE
A 38-year-old Brampton man is accused of dozens of charges connected to a string of break-ins at commercial and office buildings in the city.
Peel Regional Police said the alleged incidents occurred in Brampton between February and May, leading to the arrest of a suspect by the 22 Division break-and-enter unit after a “thorough investigation.”

SUSPECTS SOUGHT IN THEFT PROBE
A 32-year-old Toronto man is wanted by police, who are also trying to identify a second suspect in a theft probe.
Toronto Police said they responded to a theft call May 14 at about 3 p.m. in Woodbine Ave.-O’Connor Dr. area, where the victim was walking before being approached by two men.
The men conversed with the victim, stole their watch and then fled.
Ovidiu Alexandru is wanted for theft over $5,000.
Police said a second man was seen wearing a dark-coloured shirt.
